Hello everyone! My name is Ariel Sherer, creator and editor of Rossville FCCLA online. I am a senior at Rossville Jr/Sr High School and an active member of my FCCLA chapter. I began my FCCLA journey last year during my Junior year. Being apart of this organization has given me many opportunities I would have never been able to experience without it. I attended the State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Wichita, KS and received a gold medal in Career Investigation. Mrs. Welshans and I then made our way to Nashville, TN for the National Leadership Conference (NLC), where I received a bronze medal for my project. I also hold first place in Culinary Math from the National Cluster Meeting this past fall in Oklahoma City, OK. Although my personal achievements may reflect so, FCCLA isn’t all about winning awards. FCCLA teaches students, like myself, about basic family functions, playing a functional role in society, and leadership skills. FCCLA also promotes careers in FCS and teaching our youth how to be responsible. Even if you don’t compete in a STAR event, there are plenty of ways to get involved. It can be as ambitious as running for office, or just as simple as being a timekeeper. If you want to learn more about FCCLA, talk to your school advisor, or visit http://fcclainc.org/. Thanks for visiting Rossville FCCLA and don’t forget to subscribe to be notified every time we post!

Very nice work Ariel and Rossville FCCLA! Very excited to see this program grow at Rossville.
